Tamanegi no Budo Kodansha

Kodansha Grades in the Tamanegi Do Martial Arts System have always been the Dan Grades of 7, 8, 9 & 10.

Unique to other systems, there is only a single 10th Dan Black Belt. Not so in the Tamanegi Do system of martial arts.

Though there is only one Doshu Shodai, it is the culture of Tamanegi no Budo that those ryu consisting of more than 60 arts be led by individual Shogo licensed Kodansha. Each essentially equivalent to the various military Flag Grades as in the most traditional sense.

Similar to the martial requirements of general flag officers, the Kodansha are learned generalists and multiple subject matter experts willing to lead by example, and stand out by their willingness to train those deserving black belts who choose to follow in the same lanes of subject matter expertise and leadership excellence.
